Demon Spore

Demon Spore is a tense action-horror roguelite oozing with atmosphere inspired by 1980s sci-fi horror films such as The Thing, Leviathan, and The Blob. The game harkens back to retro top-down shooters while baking roguelike progression into its mutated flesh in the form of an eccentric cast of unlockable characters.

Play as a terrified scientist struggling to survive through an outbreak of massively mutated proportions infesting your laboratory after a promising cure for mass world starvation devolves into a beastly threat with an insatiable hunger. Your enemy is an abomination of flesh and tentacles with a taste for organic matter, constantly evolving and adapting, infecting everything: even your fellow scientists can turn against you.

No two playthroughs of Demon Spore are the same and each new run requires a different approach to plotting an escape route out of the infested lab. Players must approach each room carefully and be ready to make on-the-fly decisions depending on what equipment and grotesque creatures inhabit the environment. Combat requires quick maneuvering and tactical thinking against enemies with unique behaviors and weaknesses leaving you to decide which should die first to slow the viral growth in each room.
